What's New at Poley Mountain? Part II

What's New at Poley Mountain? Part II

Good day! Since you last heard from me, we opened our new Slope Side Bar & Grill to the public for the first time. We ran Friday evening, full day and night Saturday, and Sunday’s brunch was a big hit! Just as popular was our live entertainment Saturday night featuring Marco Rocca’s cover band from Moncton. They are still working on a band name, and I suggest they find one soon, because the feedback received has been very positive – “best band ever at Poley” among the notables.

Chef Mathias featured two weekend specials, a twist on your everyday baguette steak sandwich and chicken alfredo. And to rewind just a little bit, Sunday’s brunch featured eggs benny, tomato salad, and smoked salmon. Certainly well attended and seemingly enjoyed by all. Check our social media sites for future Sunday brunch opportunities.

Snow School has a few new ideas up their sleeves this season as well. Not 100% new in theory yet new regardless is their 6-Week Adult programs as opposed to their previous 8-Week programs. Tuesday Morning Seniors, Wednesdays are Ladies’ Day, and brand new is Couples’ Day on Thursdays.

Tuesday Morning Seniors - Starting January 5th and running for a period of 6 weeks, the seniors program is specifically designed with you in mind! Offering ski improvement with a level 2 instructor, this fun program proves that you can learn a few new tricks and gain experience no matter your age. Weekly lessons for those 55 years of age and over for all skiing abilities. Join us Tuesday mornings from 10 am to 12pm for 6 weeks!

Ladies’ Day - Jointhe girls for a great morning out; everyone can improve on their skiing, but not everyone can have as much fun as you will at Poley Mountain. What better way to help you get over the mid-week blues and enjoy an excellent 2 hour group lesson from a highly trained instructor than skiing with friends! Ladies' Day is open to all ages and all abilities. Join the girls Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12pm for a 6 week period, starting January 6th.

Couples Day - Join us with your spouse or significant other for a fun group lesson to improve your skiing. Lessons are open to all ability levels and all ages. At the conclusion of your weekly lesson, join us in our new Slope Side Bar & Grill and enjoy your choice of soup and sandwich with tea or coffee. Commencing January 7th, our New Couples' Day will run for a 6 week period, Thursday mornings from 10am to 12pm.

Well, hopefully we have managed to get the Mountain open for our anxious guests by the time you have read this. Due to Christmas holiday, it has been submitted an entire week before you will read it, and that’s an eternity in the seasonal ski business, especially this time of year when we literally teeter on Mother Nature’s cooperativeness by the hour as to when we open the Mountain. I guess you can bank on one thing – next week there should be plenty to write and read about. In the meantime – Happy Holidays!

We look forward to seeing you soon!
