Short answer? L-O-T-S-!
Before I get into the long answer, I will start by welcoming everyone to what is set to be another great year at Poley Mountain. There is plenty of new news to share, so let’s get started.
We received a lot of feedback after Trailer Park City was removed this past spring. One of the more common points was directed at the Bag Lunch / Change Area trailers we had. We listened to this feedback, and as a result, have added a trailer, complete with washroom, to the lower parking lot at the base of the Mountain - across the road. This will provide pass holders quick access to the Mountain. Guests can park their vehicle, change into their gear, and access the main chair lift all before ascending the Mountain.
Essentially doubling the lodge’s capacity, increased parking became a focus early on. While removing all trailers will increase the size of the main lot, the parking lot at the bottom of the Mountain has also been expanded to accommodate double the number of vehicles as it could before, if not more than double.
Another focus after removing all trailers is to be more accommodating to snowmobilers. We will now have designated and lit parking for snowmobilers, as well as extended kitchen hours Thursday and Friday nights (10pm).
Something we love doing is providing added value to you, our Guests. Whether you ski, whether you ride, whether you eat, or whether you drink, our Slope Side Bar & Grill is sure to please. The Bar & Grill will be open daily to all, even if you don’t fancy skiing or snowboarding. The Bar & Grill will also feature live entertainment weekly; most Thursdays, every Friday, and every other Saturday, at no additional charge. Check Poley Mountain Official on Facebook and our new Web site at poleymountain.com for upcoming artists.
That’s right – I said ‘new Web site’! Another focus was to become more mobile friendly and responsive to everyone with a cell phone and tablet. You will find all the information you need on this new Web site, which also features our social media tie-ins, so you can keep up to date with everything “social”.
Last but by far not the least, I suspect you wish to learn more about our new lodge. The main level is a great place to start, featuring a very large cafeteria with comfortable seating capacity of 300+. The new kitchen is huge! Here we will prepare food for both the cafeteria and the bar & grill; whereas, the old lodge had two separate kitchens. The Slope Side Bar & Grill seats another 150+ comfortably, accommodating 500 guests easily between the two spaces. Both the cafeteria and the bar & grill have extensive views with multiple windows facing both up and down the Mountain. Should you be interested in hosting an off-season event, don’t hesitate to give us a call to inquire.
Additional notables regarding the new lodge is the very large and much needed expansion of the Rental Shop. If you are a friend of Poley and recall our previous set-ups, I believe you will be impressed when you visit. Not to mention the Retail Boutique is expanded over its previous square footage from the old lodge. For sale are all the essentials and accessories you need, even skis! It’s true, we’re even selling skis!
Well, it’s time to wrap this up for the week. Take my word for it, there’s plenty to see and do at Poley Mountain this year. Check out events calendar weekly – you may even see something ‘snow shoe’ related.
